The Mutiny of the Elsinore

by Jack London

Adventure · Novel

Open Library OL15301659W

The Mutiny of the Elsinore is partially based on London's voyage around Cape Horn on the Dirigo. The character "De Casseres", who espouses nihilistic viewpoints similar to the ideas of French philosopher Jules de Gaultier, is based on London's real-life friend and journalist Benjamin De Casseres.

About the author

London’s Northland books put animals and people under the same pressure: cold, hunger, and the stories civilization tells about both. The Call of the Wild follows a dog out of California and into that pressure. More of this shelf for Jack London.
